2026 Painted Lady Butterfly Classroom Kit Preorder

Butterflies will be shipped the week of May 4th. Confirmed pickup orders must be picked up on May 6th or 7th.
The Live Painted Lady Butterfly Expanded Rearing Kit is the perfect kit for large groups or classrooms, or if you are looking to share your kit with some friends. The Classroom Kit includes 25-30 larvae, and will require you to separate the larvae into individual containers (included).
Have you ever wondered at the beauty and majesty of a butterfly emerging from its chrysalis? Now you can watch the cycle in your own home. These kits are a wonderful spring project!
Our Butterfly Expanded Rearing Kit includes:
Did you know Painted Lady Butterflies are found on every continent except Antarctica and are virtually as widespread as the Cabbage White - and all of this without human assistance? They are common throughout Canada. The upper surface is orange, black and white, with a wingspan of 50 - 60 mm.
Larvae do not come with a flight cage to house adult butterflies. You will need a larger container for your chrysalis to emerge. You can make your own with from a cardboard box or a mesh laundry hamper. Or you can purchase a Butterfly Flight Cage.
The whole project takes about a month:

Butterfly larvae are very sensitive to fluctuations in temperature. We take every precaution to make sure they arrive to you safely, and ask that you do the same by checking your butterfly communication and tracking emails so that you can retrieve them as soon as they are delivered.
Butterfly kits must be ordered SEPARATELY from any other items, and require Xpresspost shipping with Canada Post. Should you wish to order other products, even a flight cage, you must place 2 separate orders. We will confirm your address is within the delivery range, and send your paid invoice, as well as other instructions, by email to confirm your preorder. Butterflies will be shipped the week of May 4th.

We take every precaution to make sure they arrive to you safely, and ask that you do the same by checking your butterfly communication and only picking butterflies up in vehicles that have temperature controls. Please do not leave your butterflies in a hot/cold car while you run other errands, make CHER the last stop of the day.
Butterflies must be ordered SEPARATELY from any other items. Should you wish to order other products, even flight cages, you must place them on a separate order. We will confirm your order and send your paid invoice, as well as other instructions, by email to confirm your preorder.
We offer the service of holding any additional orders until the Butterflies arrive, please see your confirmation email for further information. Butterflies must be picked up May 6th or 7th.
