The world in which we live places great value on knowledge. But people don't always strive to know the most important things. The truth is you may be extremely knowledgeable about insects, or stars, or the sciences. You may be very wise about those sorts of things and people might really admire you for that knowledge. That's all well and good, but if you don't have the wisdom of God, you're missing the most important knowledge a man can ever hope to attain.

How do you gain the wisdom of God? Proverbs tells that, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding" (9:10). Wisdom strts when we begin to reverence God above all other things. And when that reverence moves us to seek God through His Word, we gain understanding.

Wisdom is yours for the taking. God desires to give it to you. Honor Him, meditate on His Word, and obey whatever He asks you to do. And as you open the pages of this book, invite the Holy Spirit to guide you daily into all truth. That's the Wisdom for Today.
