Discovering Canada explores the distinguishing characteristics of the provinces and territories across the country, such as the rugged mountain ranges in the West and the fishing villages in the East. Students will be introduced to basic geographic skills and will explore the six physical regions of Canada.
Discovering Canada introduces students to the second largest country in the world: Canada. Through clearly written text, Discovering Canada looks at some of the key physical, political, economic, and cultural characteristics of the country, the provinces, and the territories. Colourful maps, illustrations, and photgraphs combine to give young readers snapshots of the many regions that make up this vast country. Through a variety of activities, students are given opportunites to develop skills, including research/inquiry and communication skills and mapping and globe skills.
