Many home education families in Canada ask for information on how to contact school boards in their province. Provincial School BoardsAlbertaBritish Columbia Alberta School BoardsIn Alberta there are "Willing Non-Resident" School Boards which have shown that they are willing to work with home education families to facilitate their home school. We are fortunate enough to have choices as to how we go about teaching our children. One of the ways those choices can be expressed is by how we register with a school board. We can go "aligned" or "fully aligned" and use the Alberta Program of Studies - which would equivalent to teaching what is taught in the schools. Or you can go "Goals and Standards" which has been compared to "raising a good citizen".
