Design and make your own patchwork projects

Patchwork for beginners is traditionally square -- square as in right angles and square as in dull. The tricky thing is that triangles, which make exciting patterns, are tough for beginners to sew, while squares are easy to sew but boring. The solution? Square pieces that are printed to look like two triangles in contrasting fabrics. Cut simple squares... sew simple squares.. design with terrific triangles! Quilting comes with a huge piece of cotton fabric printed with triangle squares and border strips in a palette of custom-designed patterns that work marvelously together. Just cut along the dotted lines to get perfectly sized fabric pieces. To help visualize how you want to put them together, a special deck of 48 design cards makes it addictively easy to arrange colorful triangle squares in countless pleasing patterns. The book's patchwork projects include toss pillows, sachets, floor pillows, a wall hanging, table mats and a cool shoulder bag. And, speaking of cool, we've also included a pressing tool that flattens seams nicely without a hot iron. At last, quilting for beginners made delightfully simple and simply delightful.
