My Guide to Our Community

This personal guide helps students learn and write about the community in which they live. Students create their own books including information about their local environment, neighborhood, and people in the community. Left-hand pages provide a large area for illustrations, plus lines for vocabulary/spelling words and a space for graphic organizers or research notes. Right-hand pages provide lines for writing about the community. The front cover and “About the Author” page further enable students to personalize their books. The completed book is great for reviewing prior to tests and for sharing with others, and it also serves as an authentic assessment that documents learning and progress over time.
