Cathy Rice had a hearing impaired child. Not finding the resources needed for hearing impaired children, she learned sign language and began teaching others as well. Her sign languages camps are very popular. The wife of a man who is deaf reminded me that “you may be able to learn to speak sign language, but most deaf people cannot learn to hear.”
