Roller Skates

A year on roller skates! That was Lucinda's year in New York City, when her family left her with dear Miss Peters, who understood that a girl of ten wanted to roller-skate to school, and who wasn't always worrying about a little lady's social dignity. At that time in the 1890's Lucinda could explore the special places in New York, and make friends with all the different neighborhood characters.
